Build canvas apps by using new and refreshed controls

Feature:

The latest Fluent Controls has been incorporated into Power Apps, resulting in a revamped user interface. Makers can now leverage the visually appealing controls and user experiences to enchant their users.

This blog post will explore the addition of Modern controls to Power Apps, as well as the steps required to enable and utilize them.

Enable Modern Controls:

  • Navigate to make.powerapps.com -> Create/Edit canvas app -> Open Settings.
  • Open Upcoming features and inside preview features enable “Try out the modern controls”.

  • New Modern Controls will be available in canvas app. To check, click on + icon on side navigation.

Modern Controls

Badge:

A badge is a graphical adornment that can be added to user interface elements.

Button:

Checkbox:

A control that allows the user to either select or deselect it, thereby setting its value to true or false.

Date picker:

A control that enables the user to pick a date by selecting it.

Dropdown:

Control which will provide list of items. The control occupies a single line unless the user decides to disclose additional options by selecting the chevron.

Progress Bar:

The progress bar can be customized to display different stages of advancement within the applications.

Modern Controls in Powerapps

Text and Text input:

Text control will allow to show text and Text input control will be used to get input from user.

Info Button:

By utilizing the info button control, we can offer users accessible assistance and direction within their applications.

Link:

This control will be used to open hyperlink.

Spinner:

The spinner control can be used to exhibit loading scenarios in which a process is underway.

Radio Button:

A selection control that presents users with multiple options, from which they can choose anyone.

Tab:

A tab is a navigation control that allows users to switch between distinct contexts within an application. You can populate tabs with a list of items or select a data table field to display the list within the tabs.
